How long will it take to get my order?  Orders are usually sent within 2 weeks.  I ask that you order allowing time before your event.  If you want to rush your order, there is a $10.00 RUSH fee per shirt or per label order.  Rush orders are sent the same day or next business day depending on the time and day ordered.  You can also upgrade your shipping to Overnight Express or Priority Mail.  If doing so you must call to place your order because the RUSH options and the shipping options are not available in the shopping cart.  All orders are sent by US Mail.

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Jars for Favor Labels

Where can I get baby food jars for my favors?  My recommendation is to ask everyone you know.  Most people know someone who has a baby; they might even already be saving their jars.  I also recommend asking daycare centers.  Offer to make a donation to them or to help them in someway if they save them for you.  Several customers have told me they have acquired many jars quickly by asking a daycare.

How do you clean the jars?  I recommend the following steps for best results in cleaning baby food jars:  Don’t boil jars or put in the dishwasher until all the glue is removed.  I use Goof Off to remove the glue; it will also remove the little ink imprinted serial number.  (Goof Off can be purchased at Walmart or most Home Improvement Stores.) Then I fill the sink with warm, soapy water and put them in as I remove glue one by one.  Next I rinse the jars and put them in the dishwasher.  I have tried bleaching the lids but feel that boiling the lids is the best way to clean them.  I use tongs to separate them and to remove them.  I do not run the lids through the dishwasher.

How do you place the labels?  To place labels on the jars, I cradle the jars on my lap to apply and center label.  I center the label on the space available.   I use the jars ridges on the top and the dots on the bottom of the jar to center.  The labels are stickers which will stick onto anything.  Before removing the back of the label, position label on jar to determine your placement; after labels have been placed on they will not come off without destroying the label.  Always be sure all glue is removed from the jar.

How do you get the baby food jar lids on straight?  Don’t try to twist them on.  With baby jars you twist off the lids but press them on.  They snap into place.  A lid twisted on will almost always be crooked.  I also center the word Gerber on the lid with the center of the label when putting on the lids.

What other items can labels be placed on?  Anything you want.  I have had customers put them on boxes, bags, candles, votives and other jars; such as jelly jars.

What do you recommend filling the jars with?  The possibilities are endless; Jelly Belly’s (Our Personal Favorite), Kisses, Hugs, M&M’s and Mints are very popular.  But also there are many other candies that may go with your celebrations theme. Jordan Almonds, Gummy Bears, Gummy Worms, Skittles, Fish Crackers all work and look great.  For the holidays; Conversation Hearts, Mini Chocolate Easter Eggs, Candy Corn and Peppermints all match with holiday labels and are very cute.

What photos work best?  A clear, sharp photo works the best.  I can remove red eye and repair small imperfections in the photo.  I will crop the photo using just the child's head on the label.   Emailed photos will help your order to be processed faster.  You can also mail photos for your label order.  All original photos will be returned.   Photos that are too close up will not work well as they are hard to crop around the image.  Sometimes professional photos work beautifully as they are so clear, but if a professional photo is printed on textured paper it may not scan well and the image may be grainy.  If a photo doesn't work well I will contact you to let you know.  If you want to use a professional photo you must provide in writing, permission for me to use the photo from the photographer, or provide me with the photographer's contact information so I can contact them to request permission.

Can I see what my labels will look like before ordering?  Yes, you will be emailed a proof of your label and given the chance to make any changes you would like.  Once you have approved the proof your labels will be made.
